Therapeutic use of some types of wormwood in folk and official medicine of different countries

An informational and analytical study of the spectrum of application of Artemisia abrotanum (wormwood), A. absinthium (wormwood), A. vulgaris (wormwood), in official and folk medicine of different countries was carried out. It is shown that the main types of therapeutic action of extracts from raw materials of all three types of wormwood are: choleretic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic,
antihelminthic, improving the gastrointestinal tract, stimulating appetite. The range of use of wormwood and bitter preparations in official medical practice is much narrower than experimentally and clinically confirmed.
