SUMMARY The problem of combating HIV infection is of great importance for the whole world, so the search for new antiviral agents is very relevant. Along with the search for new synthetic drugs, research is being carried out on antiviral substances of plant origin. The review provides
general information about HIV infection, summarizes scientific data on the antiviral activity of
herbal medicines. The mechanisms of this action of biologically active substances of medicinal plants are considered.
