Per the last the years substantially revised significance parasitic diseases. There is a tendency to an increase in invasions by many helminthiases, as a result of which it can be considered that every inhabitant of the country repeatedly suffers parasitic diseases in his life. Echinococcosis (hydatidosis) is becoming more widespread in Ukraine today. Until recently, it was considered an endemic disease in the regions of Central Asia, southern Russia, Transcaucasia, Australia, South and North America, and now, given the low status of the body’s immune reactivity, the influence of unfavorable environmental factors, the flourishing of “natural economy”, the disease is steadily marching around the country.

The features of the biology of the parasite, the routes of infection and the patterns of development of the disease in animals and humans have been studied for a long time, especially those related to the hepatic and pulmonary localizations of cystic formations. But the rare places of localization of cysts (kidneys, brain, heart, peritoneum, etc.), differential diagnosis of them from other tumor entities deserves more attention.
