SUMMARY Terminally differentiated large decidual cells are heterogeneous in their DNA content. This is one of the signs of apoptosis. The activity of BDC apoptosis increases with the severity of the course of preeclampsia. It is also known that in
the presence of calcium ions in the medium, the number of dead cells is greater
than when cells are cultured in a medium that does not contain calcium ions.
