Treatment of arterial hypertension in the XXI century remains an urgent problem in medicine. The pharmaceutical industry has flooded the market with
“wonderful” antihypertensive drugs, but there are no fewer hypertensive patients. It is necessary to take into account the mentality of Russians, many of whom, in the presence of chronic cardiovascular pathology, take medications only in case of poor health (hypertensive crisis, heart pain) and do not want to “get hooked” on a
lifelong course of medications. In December 2004, a 56-year-old man came to CEIM with complaints of a regular increase in blood pressure in the morning (at 4–5 o’clock) up to 200 and 120 mm Hg, accompanied by palpitations, heaviness in the back of the head, and dizziness. He has been suffering from hypertension for 2 years, in 2003 he was treated with a hypertensive crisis in a hospital, where a left kidney stone was revealed during examination.
