In recent years, more and more criminals addicted to psychoactive substances have entered the penal system (Lobanov K.N., 2002; Gusev S.I., 2003).
At the same time, data on the prevalence of drug addiction among convicts are highly variable: from 41.7% (Agalarzade A.Z., 1990, 1998) to 0.2% (Pelipas V.E.,
1994). Published works on the study of drug addiction among convicts, as a rule, affect only certain aspects of clinic and therapy in some drug-dependent groups,
and do not always take into account the specifics and socio-psychological characteristics of the convict contingent (Krivulin E.N. 1998; Nasrullaev F.S. , 1996).
A significant increase in the number of cases of criminal prosecution after the
onset of drug addiction is characteristic (Tsuber A.I., 1991).
