A serious problem in maxillofacial surgery is the treatment of patients with osteomyelitis, which often develop after radiation therapy. After performing surgical interventions, the reparation processes are often sharply disturbed, there is a pronounced edema in the area of the surgical wound, a slow formation of the postoperative suture, or quite often – divergence of the sutures, the formation of fistulas, restrictions and severe pain when opening the mouth, requiring the appointment of analgesics, the situation is aggravated by the often joining infection.

The empirical use of antibiotics without taking into account the nature of the pathological flora is not effective enough, in addition, antibiotic therapy inevitably contributes to the aggravation of the immunodeficiency already existing in this category of patients and the development of intestinal dysbiosis. All this contributes to a decrease in the effectiveness and lengthening of the duration of therapy. Surgeons remain skeptical about the use of energy-information technologies in such cases.
