Prehistory At the beginning of the 20th century, the English physician E. Bach (1880–1936) drew attention to the fact that the composition of the intestinal flora correlates with a number of chronic and other difficult to treat diseases [1, 2, 4]. A special role is played by bacteria that are unable to ferment lactose. According to their ability ferment various Sahara Bach combined varied lactose-splitting bacteria into special groups (Table 1).
Bach, and later his students (Dr. TM Dishington, Dr. CEWheeler, Dr. J. Paterson and Dr. E. Paterson) did a great job of isolating, systematizing and creating vaccines of these bacteria. At the same time, they noticed that the secretion of these bacteria in the stool is subject to certain periodic patterns corresponding to the state of health of the investigated probants.
