Echinococcosis is a disease of humans and animals caused by the larval stage (Finnish) of echinococcus from the class of tapeworms from the tapeworm family. In human and animal pathology, Echinococcus granularis (granulosis), which causes the hydatid form of echinococcosis, and Echinococcus multilocularis, which causes the alveolar form of echinococcosis, which is called alveococcosis, are of particular importance. These tissue helminthiases differ morphologically and biologically. In humans, E. Granulosus causes the formation of cysts, mainly in the liver and lungs, and E. Multilocularis causes the formation of multi-chambered (alveolar) lesions capable of invasive growth in adjacent tissues. Clinically, the diseases caused by these representatives of helminths differ significantly.
