Amenorrhea after discontinuation of contraceptives or hyperinhibition syndrome of the gonadotropic function of the pituitary gland is relatively rare. This diagnosis is rather vague, and there is no consensus either regarding the pathogenesis or regarding the treatment of women with this pathological condition. Some associate this condition with the development of hyperinhibition of the gonadotropic function of the pituitary gland. Apparently, in this case, there is a hyperinhibition of all links of the generative system, and it is significantly higher in those women with a history of menstrual irregularities.
