For several years we have been actively using the capabilities of the AIC “IMEDIS-FALL” in the treatment of patients with severe neuropsychiatric pathology. In this work, we would like to demonstrate, using the example of 2 groups of patients, the possibilities of ART diagnostics and new approaches to the treatment of patients with epilepsy and reactive depression, taking into account the peculiarities of biochemical metabolism in this pathology.
Epilepsy is one of the mental diseases characterized by polymorphism of manifestations, the clinical picture of which is often atypical, abortive, erased. This creates certain difficulties not only in the diagnosis, but also in the development of treatment tactics. In recent years, along with the appointment of anticonvulsant therapy, the study of the exchange of neurotransmitters in patients with epilepsy (serotonin, catecholamines, acetylcholine) has attracted great attention of researchers, since a close relationship has been proven between mental disorders and changes in the metabolism of biogenic amines, in particular, serotonin.
