Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a mysterious and still poorly understood pathology, although it was described by the American physician A. Ekbom back in 1945. According to the literature, RLS occurs in 3-15% of people, and according to some sources up to 25%. As more than 20 years of experience shows, the latter figure seems to me to be more correct. Previously, RLS was referred to as neuroses and diseases of middle age. This always caused my inner protest. I know of entire families in which several of its members of different ages suffer from this pathology, which speaks of the genetic nature of the disease.
