The basic concepts of Chinese traditional medicine are the fundamental substance of the human body, which is necessary to maintain normal vital functions (Chi, Qi, Ki – in Russian transcription) and the channels (jing) along which it moves (Fisenko, 1993). The most ancient images of hieroglyphs in the form of pictograms represent Chi in the form of a grain with disintegrating shells, which is associated with the idea of the development of life, of expandability and its cyclical nature. The three lines at the top symbolize the categories: Heaven, Earth and Man, that is, Chi penetrates everywhere. (Dubrovin, 1991) The canons of Chinese medicine indicate that Chi can come from the past Heaven and from the future Heaven.
