A large number of patients suffer from difficult-to-heal wounds. It is estimated that just because of the diabetic foot, the National Health Fund of Poland loses several million a year, and this disease often ends in limb amputation. The causes of difficult-to-heal wounds: – disorders of venous circulation; – disorders of carbohydrate metabolism (diabetes mellitus); – blood clotting disorders.
Conservative treatment is symptomatic treatment, very often it does not prevent the further development of changes. The patient turns to the surgeon for a consultation, where he often has to make an unpleasant decision about amputation. For 7-8 years in our center we have been using ozone therapy in the form of a sleeve and intravenous administration by a low-dose method, according to the research and recommendations of the Institute of Ozone Therapy of Ukraine.
