The psyche, the brain and the corresponding organ are three levels of one integral mechanism that functions synchronously. The interaction between them has been worked out by nature for thousands of years.
Recently, the scientific literature has noted the actualization of the topic of the relationship between the digestive and nervous systems, the study of which was initiated by I.P. Pavlov more than a hundred years ago. According to modern concepts, these relationships are realized through the intestinal-cerebral axis (CMO) – a binarial communication system with the help of which the brain modulates the functions of the gastrointestinal tract, and vice versa. This system includes nervous, immune, endocrine and paracrine mechanisms.
