Hepatosis of pregnant women is currently considered an atypical form of preeclampsia associated with increased detoxification function of the liver in conditions of prolonged exposure to ecotoxins associated with environmental problems (OI Lineva et al., 1998). The disease is associated with a high level of female sex hormones during gestation, leading to a violation of the excretory function of the liver, stagnation of bile in the biliary tract, the formation of cholestatic stones (G.B. Beznoschenko et al., 2004) We examined 24 pregnant women suffering from cholestatic hepatosis. The age of women ranged from 21 to 32 years old. There were 8 first-pregnant women, 16 multi-pregnant women. The gestation period ranged from 32 to 38 weeks.
During the examination, all pregnant women complained of severe, sometimes excruciating itching of the skin, sleep disturbance. However, the general condition was not disturbed, there was no nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, no edema. Arterial hypertension and tachycardia were not observed. Icteric staining of the skin and mucous membranes was insignificant in 5 pregnant women. The size of the liver and spleen remained normal. From the biochemical parameters of blood, there was a sharp increase in the level of alkaline phosphatase in all examined pregnant women, in 8 there was a moderate increase in total bilirubin and cholesterol, urea and creatinine were within the normal range.
