In classical medicine, the treatment of diffuse-toxic goiter (DTG) is a difficult problem, since the etiopathogenesis of this disease is not well understood. The only currently used method of therapy with mercazolil preparations, as a rule, lasts 1-2 years and, if ineffective (usually in 60% of patients), strumectomy is performed.
