SUMMARY Some medicinal plants used by Veps healers for various diseases are briefly characterized. Plants are given that are widely known among the people both to the Vepsians and to the Russified descendants of the annalistic Vesya in the places of its former settlement. The material was collected and analyzed by the author, doctor of medical sciences, during 50 years of constant annual communication with the
Vepsians. A comparison is made of the use of these plants in Vepsian, scientific and
some traditional medicines.
