RESUME We analyzed ideas about the causes of type 2 diabetes in current medical practice and in world Traditional medical systems and we have identified partial matches of views. At the same time, the Western medicine does not take into account the violation of the Energy potential of the organism, in particular, the depletion, or reduction in the quality and/or quantity of Qi as a cause of diabetes. Unlike Western medicine, traditional world medical
practice widely uses the grains and cereals for the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes
(including constitutionally conditioned) because of their harmonizing properties, “characters”
and “tastes”.
