The relevance of studying the etiology and pathogenesis of neurosis-like disorders (nocturnal enuresis, tics, paroxysmal somnambulism, logoneurosis) is associated with the fact that in recent years there has been an increase in the prevalence of this pathology in children. These diseases are very difficult to treat, especially medication. The success of therapy largely depends on how clearly it is possible to identify the cause of the disease and to trace the main pathogenetic mechanisms of the formation of disorders. The purpose of this study was the study of the influence of various etiological factors on the occurrence of these disorders in children.

The work was carried out on the basis of the consultative and diagnostic center of the children’s city polyclinic in Moscow. The examination and treatment of children was carried out on the hardware and software complex (AIC) “IMEDIS-EXPERT”, developed at the Center “IMEDIS” (Moscow) according to the methodological developments of the academician of MAIM, professor Gotovsky Yu.V. (1995, 1998-2000).

Under observation for 3 years there were 428 children (285 boys and 143 girls) aged 5 to 18 years, suffering from neurosis-like syndrome. Of these, nocturnal urinary incontinence was noted in 286 children, tics – in 46 children, paroxysmal somnambulism (sleepwalking) – in 28, and logoneurosis – in 68 children. It should be noted right away that the examination for children was carried out on on the basis of complaints, and then a more clear gradation was carried out into a neurosis-like or neurotic symptom complex. Thus, in accordance with the etiological factor, which, in our opinion, was the cause of the development of this pathology, all children were divided into 3 groups.
