Of all the methods of treating cancer, chemotherapy is developing especially rapidly in our time. New drugs are being developed, various schemes for their combination. However, it is very difficult to prevent or predict in advance the occurrence of side effects of this type of treatment. They can occur with the first administration of the drug. Nausea, vomiting, headache, and allergic reactions are common.
With subsequent injections, these complications can gradually worsen, the function of the gastrointestinal tract is disrupted, hematopoiesis suppression, liver dysfunction, and neurological disorders are added. Late complications usually occur after the end of chemotherapy treatment. These include suppression of the function of the thyroid gland, other endocrine organs, severe damage to hematopoiesis.
