Patient I.A.V., 10 years old. The child’s parents asked for help in treating a hearing disorder. The patient complains of pain in the left ear lasting for two days, a feeling of stuffiness in the ear, itching in the ear canal. When you press on the tragus of the ear, the pain increases. The parents reported that this condition of the patient was not unusual for him; for two years now the child has been experiencing such symptoms 3-4 times a year.

They noted that often these symptoms occurred after the child visited the pool. Otolaryngologists of the children’s district polyclinic diagnosed otitis externa and prescribed antibiotics for treatment, mainly. Often they changed drugs during the course of treatment due to the ineffectiveness of the previously prescribed ones. After some time, the child’s condition improved, but after 2–3 months the symptoms returned.
