Introduction

Changes in cerebral circulation are a key link in the existing theories of pathogenesis in osteochondrosis of the cervical spine (OSHOP). Nevertheless, the state of cerebral blood circulation in the acute and chronic period of this common disease has not been sufficiently studied (Kravtsov Yu.I., Usacheva L.V., 2002). Purpose of the study: study of cerebral hemodynamics in patients with OSHOP with acute and chronic pain syndrome.

Material and methods

Transcranial Doppler sonography (TCD) was performed on a VASOFLO-4 apparatus using a 2 MHz transducer in a pulsating mode with the patient lying on his back. The brachiocephalic and intracranial arteries were examined. The blood flow in the common carotid and internal carotid arteries, the blood flow in the middle cerebral and anterior cerebral arteries, and the velocity and spectral characteristics of the flow were studied.
