SUMMARY The article provides data on the chemical composition of marine echinoderms
– sea cucumbers. Revealed a high content in these animals of biologically active substances capable of exerting a physiological effect on the human body (iodine compounds, B vitamins, ascorbic acid, etc.). The most significant compounds that
make up sea cucumbers – triterpene glycosides, as well as their biological effects are considered.
