Modern musical therapy Is a set of medical preventive methods (there are more than 50 of them) based on the use of elements of musical art, pedagogy, creativity and various methods of musical and acoustic influences. Music therapy methods are widely used for the rehabilitation of movement and psychosomatic disorders, health improvement practices and personality development.
The medicinal use of music has a long history. Music was successfully used in their practice by Hippocrates, Avicenna and other prominent doctors of antiquity. But this was a purely empirical experience, and explanations of the healing properties of music were of a religious and mystical nature. In the 50s of the XX century, music therapy received state recognition in the United States, in the 60s and 70s in England, then in Germany.
