Introduction
Diabetes mellitus is currently a serious medical problem in terms of the prevalence, incidence rate, severity of the course, the presence and increase in the number of complications associated with it. The number of patients is growing every year. Despite the emergence of new drugs and methods of therapy, the treatment of diabetes mellitus is a difficult task, both for the doctor of traditional medicine and in the aspect of alternative therapy.
Along with drugs, insulin therapy, diet and physical activity, vitamins, micro- and macroelements and biologically active substances play an important role in the treatment of this disease and in maintaining the normal state of patients.
Purpose of the study
Type I and II diabetes is a progressive chronic disease. An essential role in its course and development is played not only by the violation of carbohydrate metabolism, but also by changes in the entire metabolism in the body.
