RESUME According to WHO reports, worldwide experience of Traditional medicine (TM) has been successfully applied to the development of modern standardized herbal medicines. Researchers are guided mainly by local sources of medicinal plants and traditional medical
systems. TM experience is also used in search of plants considered as food ingredients and
biologically active substances (BAS) sources for modern herbal drugs.
