In cooperation with doctors of various specialties, we often see children referred by ENT doctors diagnosed with chronic rhinosinusitis. As a rule, despite the small age of patients, they have many years of “experience” of the disease and repeated unsuccessful attempts at treatment.
The problem of diagnosis and treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis is especially relevant in children, since in the chronic course of the disease, prolonged disturbance of nasal breathing leads not only to sleep disturbances, headaches, reactive hyperplasia of the lymphoid tissue of the nasopharynx (adenoids), but also to dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract, deformity facial skeleton and chest, the development of anemia and malnutrition (the so-called adenoid leanness).
