The leading place among natural focal infections in Udmurtia is occupied by hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) and tick-borne encephalitis (TBE). Due to the steady increase in the incidence of HFRS and TBE, a high percentage of discrepancies in diagnoses (21.9%), an increase in the number of severe (18.9%) and complicated (20.5%) forms, residual effects (61.5% –70, 4%), the problems of their early diagnosis and optimization of treatment are becoming more urgent.
