SUMMARY An information-analytical study of scientific literature data on medicinal ginger was carried out. It has been established that the rhizomes of medicinal ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe, Zingiberaceae L.) are known and used all over the world. In Europe, it is used as a spice and food product, and is also used in medicine. The healing properties of ginger have long been known in the East, and the spectrum of its pharmacological activity and use in national medical systems is unusually wide. The chemical composition of ginger rhizomes has been well studied by now: biologically active substances that provide the main pharmacological effects are tsingiberen, gingerols and shogaols (gingerol). According to the data of preclinical and clinical studies conducted in many countries of the world, ginger rhizome has a
