The purpose of our study was to test snowmobile equipment, laying a route for transportation and year-round delivery of food and medicine to hard-to-reach settlements, as well as to study the health status of residents of the Northern Urals (SU), using the example of cervical dorsopathy (CD). The transportation of people and the necessary equipment was carried out on specially made light alloy sleds (RF patent, AV Sharov, 2004), towed by Buran snowmobiles.

Transport sleds are aimed at solving the following tasks: increasing the reliability of the structure, ensuring comfortable transportation of passengers during high-speed sliding of loaded sleds over snowy terrain. The set tasks are achieved by the fact that in the wellknown design of the sled, the platform for loads, with the help of longitudinal tubular struts and spring-hydraulic shock absorbers fixed on them, is installed on 4 supports (skis) independent of each other.

The choice of this type of snowmobile and sled, with one controlled ski, is due to the peculiarities of the terrain in which the track was laid, good maneuverability when moving along the slopes of the mountains and cutting the serpentine. Material and methods The data discussed in the work are the result of a comprehensive examination and treatment of 83 patients with cervical dorsopathy living in the Northern Urals (SU). The age of the patients in the group varied from 18 to 65 years, with a predominance of observations in the age groups of 40–49 years (41.03 per 100 examined). The average age of the subjects was (39.65 ± 0.5) years, with the duration of CD disease (3.5 ± 0.3) years, in men – 39.04 ± 0.5 for women – 38.05 ± 0.2 (Table 1).
