The concept of postcholecystectomy syndrome (PCES) unites an extensive (more than ten nosologies) group of diseases hepatobiliary pancreatic system, which arise or intensify after cholecystectomy. The term is conditional, and not always, even in a clinic, it is possible to clearly determine the nature of the disease, but the connection with the performed surgical intervention is always obvious. The number of cholecystectomies is increasing annually, the technique of surgical interventions is improving, but the frequency of PCES remains quite high and is diagnosed clinically in 25% of the operated patients.
